My Green Doctor is an environmental sustainability practice management program for outpatient healthcare. Our proven, easy to use program guides practice managers and clinicians in adding environmental sustainability and climate change preparedness to healthcare clinics, offices, and outpatient centers. This is accomplished by adding only five minutes of My Green Doctor to the agenda of each regular staff meeting. Our Meeting-by-Meeting Guide takes you step by step to save money and create a healthier community. In addition, personalized consulting by MGD experts make this a pleasure for managers and clinicians alike.
Who Benefits from MGD?
My Green Doctor is for everyone in an outpatient healthcare setting – clinicians of all types, managers, administrators, clerical staff, the cleaning staff, technicians, and the Information Technology team. It includes patients as well because they will receive information to take home to share with their families. In addition, patients can register to use My Green Doctor’s resources themselves.
My Green Doctor’s content is easy to understand and use. No scientific background or environmental knowledge is needed. MGD costs very little or is free if an office staff member belongs to one of the My Green Doctor Participating Organizations.
Make Going Green an Official Policy
Leadership begins at the top. My Green Doctor’s experience of more than fifteen years has been that practices find success once environmental sustainability is made a practice policy. Sustainability can be one of your core values and to stand together with other commitments such as to provide excellent healthcare, protect privacy, and show respect for everyone in the practice.
A commitment to sustainability means to include a few minutes of My Green Doctor on every (or almost every) staff meeting agenda; to take advantage of help from My Green Doctor consultants; to make slow, steady changes that really add up; and to commit to earning My Green Doctor’s Green Practice Recognition Certificate. It is about having a sustainable environmental sustainability program that will be a pleasure and not a burden.

How to Get Started
Once you have watched the homepage’s “Three Minute Video” and your practice has made the decision to use My Green Doctor, get started by taking these steps:
- This is optional, but we suggest scheduling a fifteen minute phone call or Zoom session with a MGD consultant: [email protected]
- Place five minutes of My Green Doctor on the agenda of your next business or staff meeting.
- Use the Meeting-by-Meeting Guide to guide each five-minute session.
- Plan for the practice to qualify for the Green Practice Recognition Certificate which is accomplished in as little as six months. You will be saving money and creating a healthier community.
